What does a chatter actually cost?
Hourly, commission, or hybrid. Slide your numbers and see the monthly cost per chatter, the effective share of sales each model takes, and the sales level where the models cross.

How the math works
Monthly hours
Weekly hours × 4.345, the average number of weeks in a month. 40 hours a week is 173.8 hours a month, not 160.
Hourly cost
Hourly rate × monthly hours. This is what the chatter costs whether or not anything sells.
Commission cost
Commission % × the net sales attributed to that chatter for the month. It scales with sales, which is the point and the problem.
Effective rate
Total pay ÷ attributed sales. The number both sides should know: what share of the money a seat is actually taking.
What this calculator cannot tell you
A commission plan is only as fair as its attribution. If sales are credited to whoever messaged in a time window, you are paying commission on noise, and your best chatters know it. The math above assumes the attributed sales number is real. Making it real is the hard part.
Pay structure changes behavior. Hourly pay buys coverage and predictability. Commission buys hustle on the accounts that already convert, and quiet shifts on the ones that do not. This calculator prices the structures. It cannot tell you which behavior you need. That is a staffing decision, not arithmetic.
Commission needs attribution you can defend.
FanOptik credits sales to the scheduled shift owner, publishes the unattributed share instead of hiding it, and computes pay from locked periods. That is the Shift Console.
